FL State Park #118
Переглядів 176Рік тому
I’m visiting every state park in Florida, and Lake Talquin State Park is #118 on my list (of 175). Lake Talquin State Park is not like other lake state parks in Florida. There is no boat ramp, instead a pretty fishing dock. There are high bluffs overlooking a reservoir lake. And there is a sweet 1.2 mile hike along steephead ravine drop-offs. The picnic and day use area are exceptionally beauti...

Come camping with me! Paddle in on my inflatable stand-up paddleboard, on a creek on the Gulf of Mexico, across salt marsh to a primitive campsite in Bald Point State Park. There, I have the scariest gator encounter of my life. Spoiler alert: I’m fine. Primitive camping is something I’ve only picked up as a hobby in the past two years or so. I talk about why, and a bit about my UA-cam channel s...

Seize the Chicago summer! Let's rate playgrounds for adult use. People have liked my videos with Rachael in the past, so I want to make simple videos with my friend Rachael but I am just not sure how. I thought it would be simple to play on & rate playgrounds, but oh my gosh, this type of video was a lot of work and I'm not very good at it! Final Ratings: 1. Bennet Park: 15 and 16 out of 20 2. ...

My Take on the MSC Armonia Caribbean Cruise
I use eco-shell naturally fresh pellets. Made from wallnut shells
It is ethical
How soon I can start training kittens, they are about 2 1/2 month. Thank you.
🤯🤯🤯 Out of all the millions of videos on UA-cam, this is hands down the best and most helpful video I’ve EVERRRR come across, so with that being said ♾️ THANK YOU!!!!!!
I use the horse bedding for my cat litter and for my camp toilet. It is cheap and works and smells good.
Thanx for the great tip!
Brilliant!
I'm about to get a cat soon and I wanted it to be as cheap as possible, so thank you! : D
WIERDO
Oh absolutely NOT! You are a WEIRDO! MORON
Oh wow, this info is gold!! I am getting a cat soon, and he was raised with pine pellet litter, i had no idea the significance and how much better that actually is until after watching this vid. I chevked for equine pellets, sure enough big cheap bags!!
I made this switch recently and wow. Pellets over clay everyday
Popo expert
I feel like when I switched to pellets, the ammonia smell was too rough to deal with. Does anybody have any tips to deal with that smell if I switch back over to the pellets?
Getting a female kitten with different color eyes and white fur so happy I found this
I really like this idea because I don’t like my cat sitting in a laundry detergent and being exposed to that at all. Even if I know it’s just a couple times a day for a very short period of time. But in my country I can’t find those wood pellets. 😢😢😢 I wish it was available here to.
They smell like pine until they are infused with urine or they take a number 2. I don't like the wood pellets. I find it to be way more labor intensive with the 3 pan system. You have to swap them out a lot more often, and clean the pans more often as well. Wood pellets aren't dust free either, especially when you shake them around. The partially saturated pellets don't sift through, and neither does number 2, so you end up scooping it anyway. They stink in a short amount of time kind of like a hamster cage. The wet dust that sifts through stinks terribly, and if you don't think so, you've probably just grown accustomed to the smell, but your guests will smell it. If your cats have a large urine reservoir, the pellets don't soak it all up fast enough. If you hate clay you can try corn litter, walnut litter, litter crystals etc. There are many options. I have tried most of them. I get 35lbs of up and up clay litter at target for around 12 bucks. It's the best litter I have ever used for the price. I use a heavy duty metal scoop with a long handle, which makes the job easier, and keeps the litter further away from my face. Shaking a litter pan right under your nose isn't good for you. If you are having a problem with your cats flinging litter get some kind of top entry litter box with high walls. A cheap storage container from Wal mart works great. If your cat doesn't like jumping into it you can buy or make a little ramp for it. I hope that this information is useful to someone. Take care.
Question…..I literally watched a video before yours that said not to use the equine one because it wasn’t safe for cats, where the green bag one was safe. (Sorry, I already forgot the name of the green bag pellets) 😂
what size drill bit did you use?
Didn’t work for my cat. Thanks for the heads up on that sifting litter box, though.
I've been using pine litter for years but I use it in a regular litter box. I wish I could find a sifting litter box that comes with a lid because my cats kick all of the litter out without a lid and then there's a mess everywhere! Also, wish they would make automatic litter boxes that can use pine pellets I noticed they all tell you to use clay litter. Question about the equine and wood fuel pellets are those still okay for cats to use? I've been using the Feline Pine brand for years because I heard something years ago that the equine and fuel pellets have more pine oil in them and that's why they aren't good to use with cats. Not sure how accurate that information is though any input is appreciated, thanks!
I’m allergic to pine litter :( When I adopted my cat I was using it and then I started getting sick, couldn’t breathe… yeah X_X
You are the best. Honestly the best video I've watched about cat litters. Thank you so much!
This video changed our lives. We saw this months ago and it’s certainly been better. Everything about pine litter is better. Everything !
Great video
I followed your advice a year ago, our 3 cats were reluctant at first so I introduced wood chips little by little over their clay adding it more every day over a couple of weeks so that they get use to the texture and smell (that was an annoying part). Then I fully switched to wood chips and it works like a charm. Easier, cleaner, cheaper and more environnemental. Thanks Becky ! :)
where are you located
About a year ago I switched to stainless steel litter box so the sifting isn’t possible with these containers. I also don’t like the idea of using PLASTIC anyway as it doesn’t decompose in landfills which contribute to global warming of the planet. I’ve been using grass seed litter. Any 3:41 suggestions in light of the above?
thanks you
You are my hero ❤ I have passed this tip to everyone I know.
Here in Europe we have biocat litter made in germany, no dust no waisting money, the best you can get on the market, my cat don`t like the smell of any perfume even if its natural like essential oils so the pine wood pellet story here is not gonna work for us. And i think you are taking a lot of time with sifting the stuff arround, wood has dust to, en you are sitting above the cat`s private dome, you hygiene is not that great in my eyes, but everybody has his ways.
Pine litter no longer exists in my area!!!!!! I was saving money until they got rid of it over here!!! WHY GOD WHY
Hallo i did see your video and i tried it. I was affraid my little Wilsonne would not accept (she is a little bit difficult), but... It worked perfectly and she accepted it and now she is used to it. Thank you for the tip.
I have 2 black kitties and they are so lovely 😍 I use sieve, they always watch me around their tray. It takes 20 minutes. But kitty really appreciate this. I have natural wooden one. Not clumping. It's delicate for their toe beans. My time? My time does not matter 😂
I've been using pellets for a long time and it saves me a lot of money. But one day I adopted a cat that had been run over and, perhaps because she only has one back paw, walking on pellets seems to hurt her and that's why I have to have some clay litter boxes for her to use, because otherwise she'll pee on the pillows or on the couch. I have 6 litter boxes in total (because I have 3 other cats), 3 with pellets and 3 with clay. Therefore, although I also highly recommend the use of pellets, I usually explain to people that it does not work for all cats and that we must adjust to the needs of our pets.
I've been considering switching to this method, but my mother heard that sifting boxes can harm the cat claws, is that true? I've never heard it happening before.
If it IS possible that the sift could harm cat claws, would making the sift from something softer like rubber instead of plastic solve it?
watching this while eating, so i can clean the catio afterwards
YeahI don’t know about that. If I did everything like described here, I’d have my place full of cat piss & dung. She only likes the boohooo “non-natural” finer coarse litter, or I’ll habe to pay. That’s the thing about people and “I know it all, you’re doing it all wrong”. They don’t realize, what might work with their cats, doesn’t necessarily has to work with others.
❤ i think you are beautiful
We tried, our cats hate it and refuses to use anything that isn't similar to clay litter 😢 and yes we tried introducing it by gradually mixing it in, but they just refuse.
Very good video, can agree to all points 👌 PS: Cats Best Universal is super cheap and not dusty at all, even after cats did pee. Can recommend :)
Absolutely amazing. I never new ans I have had cats for decades and hated every cat litter. I do prefer the wood pellets but hate the dust. I never knew! I'm on it now, thank you ❤
❤TY, TY, TY, TY, TY❤
I needed to search your video again just to come and post my comment, yet another happy customer!! 😁 It also took my cat a month of transition but he's now comfortable with it. You saved me not just money but the need of daily scooping, now it's just a grab with the bag like you do with a dog, some shake to the box and that's it!. Just like you said the only downside I see is the pellets not being great at masking the smell of solids, so I take a cat running through the house as my alarm to go clean the box right away, and problem solved. Thank you so much!
That sifting process……
wow we spend $30 a week on litter :o
I changed my cats to this and forgot to adept my 2 to this😢 how do I convince them to the new.
i started with my 1st kitten (found in my yard) and started with pine and alfalfa pellets (in 40# bags from the feed store) which is awesome compost and can be spread on the ground to help keep it covered (bare soil just looses moisture).
What's your take on tufu litter?
Tried the wood litter...cat hates it, won't use it at all. They are happy with the clumping clay
